Revealed: Burger King Charges you up to £1 more for a Whopper depending on where you live
Customers living in London will be charged up to 20% more for a Burger King Whopper than those living in other parts of the country research from money saving site Vogo.co.uk suggests.
Whoppers found north of the border are generally cheaper than in England’s capital, with prices in some places more than £1 cheaper.
A whopper in Burger King Tottenham Court Road, London costs £4.99, while in Edinburgh and Glasgow a Whopper costs only £3.99.
That is not the only surprise revealed by the data, with revealed the priciest burger in the UK.
The most expensive Whopper Sandwich in the UK was found at Stansted airport, with passengers having to shell out a hefty £6.09 for their beef.
The Stansted Whopper is £2.10 more expensive than the cheapest Whopper in the UK, both found in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which comes in at £3.99.
Burger King charge more for exactly the same burger, even with branches in the same city. In London, a Whopper bought at Tottenham Court Road costs £4.99 while the same Whopper costs £4.29 on London’s Euston Road, which is only just over a mile away.
Airports and train stations are the most expensive places to buy a Whopper, Stansted Aiport (£6.09) and Bristol Aiport (£5.99) top the list while a Whopper at Fenchurch Railway Station, London or Manchester Picadilly costs £5.39.
Vogo.co.uk commented: “When you purchase a Whopper in a fast food restaurant, you expect to get the same tasting burger, the same ingredients & the same packaging, but we found that you are not paying the same price. We found massive fluctuations in prices even within the same city.
Airports and Railway stations are the biggest culprits with increasing their prices, which can be up to 20% more than when you buy a Whopper Sandwich on the High Street”
